THE ONLINE GUIDE to Placer County California: Auburn, Roseville, and Lake Tahoe area.
DISCOVER PLACER COUNTY. Placer mining by pan or sluice box during the California Gold Rush gave this county its name.
Here in Placer County a wealth of activities awaits visitors and residents. Gold panning is still practiced successfully along the American, Yuba, and Bear rivers. Towering redwoods and quiet hiking trails compete for attention with an array of good restaurants, historical museums, farmers markets, and leisurely drives through rich agricultural lands. In winter there's skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling for the whole family. And, if you decide to stay longer, real estate values are easy to find. Make this web site your online guide to Placer County.
